FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA- Broward Children of Inmates Initiative is a program dedicated to training volunteers to mentor to the children of prisoners, in the hope of breaking a potentially destructive cycle before it has a chance to begin. Mentors are vital in assisting the children of inmates through a difficult period of their life. FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA- Local non-profit organizations, 2-1-1 Broward and Senior Volunteers Services, join together to insure the safety and social well-being of Broward County seniors, adults with disabilities, and caregivers. Florida holds the record of having the nation’s largest proportion of residents age 60 and older.
